Before a video is voiced or edited, you see its script as a list of beats. You can change anything, send it back for a rewrite or approve it. You can also bring a script of your own.
Bring your own script
- When you create the post, pick I have a script and press Create and paste the script. Or, on Sources, press Your own script.
- Paste the text into Script text. The sheet counts the characters and words and shows about how long it takes to speak.
- For a video that is Made for you, under How should Geminel use it? choose Word for word (the voice reads your script exactly) or As notes (the AI writes a new script from it).
- Press Add the script, or Save the script if you are changing one. Close keeps unsaved words as a draft, and Undo changes drops them.
- Press Continue with my script. With As notes the button reads Write the script.
If the text is too long, the sheet asks you to shorten it. For a video made From your footage, your script guides the writer and is not read out.
Review the script
- Under Review the script, each row is a beat with its role, such as Hook or CTA, its length, the line and what we see.
- Press a beat to open it. Change the Role, Seconds, Spoken line (narrated videos only), Text on screen or What we see, then press Save the beat. Move up and Move down reorder it, and Remove this beat takes it out after you confirm.
- Press Add a beat for a new one.
- Open the More actions for the script menu to Request changes, Edit the title or Discard this script.
- Request changes opens What should change?. Pick quick reasons such as Too long or Wrong tone, or write in Tell Geminel in your own words, then press Send back for a rewrite. With Word for word, your words stay and Geminel only splits them into scenes again.
- When you are happy, press Approve and voice it or Approve and assemble. On a phone the button reads Approve.
A word-for-word script says Every line is spoken exactly as written. A line you change is marked Edited.
Before you approve
The panel Before you approve (on a phone, press the summary row) shows:
- Cost and time: what approving costs and how long it takes. Credits are explained in Credits: paying as you go.
- For a narrated video, the voice, with Change.
- Beat lengths and Sources used, which tells you which beats use which source.
After you approve, a video that is Made for you goes on to Voice.
Good to know
- The script can change only until you approve it, and only while the post is a draft.
- Discard this script stops this video's run. Your sources stay, so you can start again.
- To change what the script is built from, go back to Sources: see Add your footage.
- If you can't change the script, the workspace owner may have limited who can edit. Ask the owner.
