Memory is the short list of facts, boundaries and preferences Geminel reads when it writes for you. You can see it, add to it, correct it and decide what it learns.

Open Memory

  1. Press the round mark in the dock to open the launcher, then press Settings.
  2. Press Memory.

The tabs are To confirm, Facts, Preferences and Style. Everyone in the workspace can read what is public. Someone who can approve posts also sees the private items and can change anything.

Add something to remember

  1. Press Add to memory.
  2. Choose the kind: Fact, Boundary, Preference, Lesson or Style rule. A boundary is something Geminel must never write or touch.
  3. Write it under What to remember, or What Geminel must never do for a boundary. One idea, in plain words. For a boundary you can add Words never to use.
  4. Under Used for, choose where it counts, such as Captions, Replies or Ideas. Everywhere is the default.
  5. Turn on Private if only people who can approve posts should see it. A private item is never quoted in a post or a reply. Turn on Pinned to have it read first. Forget it on sets a day after which Geminel stops using it.
  6. Press Add. It is remembered at once.

To change an item, open it and press the pencil (Edit this item). The menu More actions for this item has Pin, Archive, Restore and Delete.

Confirm what Geminel learns

Geminel learns from the edits people make to its drafts and proposes items. They wait in To confirm, and nothing reaches what Geminel writes until a person confirms it.

  1. Open To confirm and press an item.
  2. Press Confirm to keep it, or Reject so Geminel does not propose it again.

The button Confirm all, followed by a count, confirms the items shown, except boundaries: confirm each boundary on its own.

Pause learning

On the Memory screen, turn on Pause learning. Nothing new is learned while it is paused, and what you confirmed keeps being used. In the menu More actions for memory, Clear learned memory deletes everything Geminel learned and keeps what people added. This cannot be undone.

Good to know

  • Memory helps Geminel's writing; the knowledge base is where it looks facts up: see Ask your knowledge base.
  • A Contacts tab appears for people who can approve posts. It lists people who write to you, once contact memory is on in the Comments & DMs flow. Turning it on asks you first. See your agents and flows.
  • A note on the screen may say that memory is not used yet or that learning is off. In that case, ask us with Help and feedback.
  • A reply or a post that repeats a private item waits for a person: see Autonomy.
