Analytics and insights

See reach, views and followers over time, how each post did, and what is working: the format, time and language that reach the most people.

Analytics shows how your accounts and posts are doing, and Insights turns the numbers into a few things worth acting on. Nothing changes on its own.

See the overview

  1. Open the launcher and press Analytics. You land on Overview.
  2. Choose the period: 7 days, 30 days or 90 days.
  3. To look at one account, press the account button, All accounts at first, and choose in Account. The totals, followers and trend follow it.
  4. Read the totals: Followers, Reach, Views, Likes, Comments and Shares, each with its change against the same number of days before.
  5. Followers draws the audience over the period. Trend shows one metric per day. Switch it with the chips, or the more icon for Impressions, Shares, Saves and Watch time (s).

Totals never mix levels: an account figure and a post figure are not added together. Reach is shown as a daily average, because adding up daily reach would count the same people many times. Press the info icon, What each number means, or open Glossary for the definitions. YouTube figures cover the last 30 days.

When a figure shows a dash

A dash means the figure is not available, never zero. Open Coverage from Accounts and posts to see, for each connected account, what it measures and why a figure is missing: a permission is missing, the network's app review has not allowed it yet, the network does not offer it for that kind of post, or the network is limiting requests for now. The coverage chip on the overview says how many figures are available. If an account needs it, press Reconnect next to it and approve the permissions again.

See accounts and posts

On a wide screen Accounts and posts opens beside the overview. On a phone, press its row.

  • By account lists each account's followers, change and main numbers. Press an account to show only it, and press it again to show all.
  • Posts lists one row for each post and account. Use Filter and sort the posts to choose the period, network, format and order.
  • Press a post for its page: all its numbers, and its Index compared with similar posts. The index says how far the post is above or below its comparable posts, and n says how many posts it was compared with. With few similar posts the comparison is weak, and the page says so.
  • Open the post goes to the post, and Open on followed by the network's name opens it there.

Posts made outside Geminel

Posts you published directly on a network are imported and labelled, so the numbers cover your whole account. Open Coverage to find the switch Import posts made outside Geminel. Only the people who approve for the workspace can switch it off or on.

Instagram Stories

Instagram keeps Stories for a short time. Geminel captures their numbers before they expire, so they stay in your history.

Look at it from other sides

  • Networks looks at one network at a time: its figures per day and its posts.
  • Timing shows when your posts reached the most people.
  • Formats compares your formats, such as reels, videos and photos.
  • Glossary defines every figure in plain words.

Export the numbers

Press Export the numbers and choose CSV or Excel (.xlsx). Only the people who approve for the workspace can export.

Read the insights

  1. Press Insights, next to Overview.
  2. Choose 30 days or 90 days.
  3. Three cards each give a finding, its numbers and the way to compare: Format, Timing and Language. The icon on a card compares every format, time slot or language.
  4. Plan from this on a finding opens the Planner with that finding as the starting point: see Get ideas and plan your week.
  5. Worth knowing lists more observations. A row with an arrow opens the screen it is about.

Press the info icon, How insights work, to see what was counted.

What worked, every week

Each week you get a short summary of what worked. It appears in the app and also reaches you by email, following your notification settings, under the category Insights.

Explain this post

On a post's page, people who approve for the workspace can press Explain this post to get a short reading of why it did well or badly. It uses credits, so the estimate is shown first and nothing runs until you confirm. See Credits for how credits work. It may be unavailable for a post or at a given moment.

Good to know

  • A card says Not enough data yet until enough posts with reach back it up. Keep publishing and check again.
  • Missing numbers are left out and nothing is estimated.
  • The Timing and Language cards can offer a button that changes a workspace setting. Those belong to the people who manage the workspace, so you see Read-only instead. Ask us with Help and feedback if you want the change.
  • The workspace owner can limit who sees analytics: see Who can see sensitive data.
  • To see what goes out and when, see the calendar.
